Coroner IDs victim of shooting at downtown Five Guys

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The coroner’s office has identified a man shot and killed at a downtown restaurant.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office says 49-year-old Kristopher Kujawa died of a gunshot wound after being shot at the Five Guys restaurant at 48 E. Washington St. on Sunday afternoon.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 4:45 p.m. to find a man who had been shot inside the restaurant.

He died after being transported to a hospital.

IMPD said a person of interest in the shooting was questioned and released.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide if anyone will be charged in the case.

IMPD said the shooting was not a random act and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
