East side shooting leaves 2 men dead
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two men are dead after a shooting on the east side Tuesday night.
Police say officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 2800 block of Shadeland Avenue at the address of a Welcome Inn near the intersection of Shadeland Avenue and East 30th Street just before 10:30.
Two men with gunshot wounds were located. One was pronounced dead and the other was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He died soon after.
The man who was pronounced dead at the scene has been identified as 28-year-old Dailon Downing. The man who later died at the hospital was 33-year-old Aaron Hamilton, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
Another person, a man, walked into Community Hospital East shortly after with a gunshot wound. Police said that person is in stable condition.
The gunshot walk-in at Community East Hospital is believed to be connected to the shooting, according to officers.
