Former Greenwood councilman pleads guilty to voyeurism

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) — Former Greenwood Common Council member Brent Corey has pleaded guilty to a charge of voyeurism with the use of a camera.

Corey made the surprise plea at a court hearing Thursday. He was not expected to plea and additional court hearings on the calendar were canceled after the plea was announced.

He was sentenced to 365 days in jail but will only serve six days, with the other 359 days being served as time on probation. Corey will also pay $185 in court fees.

On June 28, a victim reported to the Greenwood Police Department that at least three women were photographed without their consent. Officers spoke with a woman at Sizemore Insurance Agency who said that women could be seen naked in the photos. The women said they could tell the photos were taken at Corey’s lake house in Prince’s Lakes. The videos showed women using the restroom and a changing room.

Corey resigned in August after he has served 10 years on the city council. Corey was 36 when charged with voyeurism in January.
