Former Mrs. Curl’s owner pleads guilty to possession of child pornography, avoids jail time
GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — The former owner of a well-known ice cream shop will avoid jail time after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.
According to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office, John Cassin was sentenced to 1 year of home detention and 2 years of probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
Cassin was the former owner of Mrs. Curl in Greenwood and was charged last year.
Authorities got a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Investigators said they connected Cassin to an IP address that uploaded a pornographic file depicting a juvenile.
They also found he had accessed several web addresses containing child pornography.
