IMPD: Overnight shootings leave 2 dead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people were killed in separate Thursday night shootings on the east side of Indianapolis, police said.

Priscilla Drive homicide

Just after 11 p.m. Thursday, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of Priscilla Drive. That’s a residential area near 16th Street and Arlington Avenue.

Officers arrived and found a man outside the residence who was “not awake or breathing,” IMPD Public Information Officer Lt. Shane Foley said in a release.

The man was taken to a hospital and died shortly after arrival, according to Foley.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the man.

Gray Street homicide

A few minutes before midnight Thursday, IMPD officers found a woman shot to death inside a home in the 600 block of Gray Street. That’s a residential area near Michigan and Rural Streets.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Friday afternoon identified the woman who died as Farrenquai Bailey, 51.

Police have not said what led to the shootings. No arrests have been made and police did not share any information about the victims or any possible suspects.
