IMPD investigating after 1 shot, killed downtown

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday evening identified the man who died as 37-year-old Quintin Cole.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead following an overnight shooting downtown, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Around 3:45 a.m., officers were called to the 300 block of East New York Street for a report of a person down.

IMPD said that after arriving on the scene, officers located someone who had been shot. Police said the victim has now died.

It’s unclear what led up to the fatal shooting.
