15-year-old boy dies in triple shooting on east side

UPDATE: The victim, 15-year-old Keyvon Hall, was identified Sept. 2 in a 2020 homicide list shared by IMPD. An arrest was made in the case.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead and another person is in critical condition following a triple shooting on the city’s east side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitian Police Department, just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the 4000 block of Wittfield Street for a person shot report.

After arriving on the scene, officers located two people shot. The first person found, a male teenager, was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. The second person found, also a male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Soon after responding to the scene, officers received a call about a third person shot on Wittfield Street who showed up to Community East Hospital. They are said to be in stable condition.

It’s unclear what led up to the fatal shooting. It remains under investigation.
