ISP: Counterfeit money, stolen gun thrown from SUV during chase that led to standoff

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Three people are in custody state police say a traffic stop led to a standoff on the city’s east side.

It started when ISP tried to pull over a trailblazer for a traffic violation around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday near LeGrande Avenue and Dawson Street.

The driver sped away but later crashed into a fence on South Oakland Avenue near Southeastern Avenue.

Police quickly arrested the two passengers, who threw a stolen handgun and counterfeit money out the windows of the SUV.

The driver got away, but police later tracked him down at his home and made the arrest.

He’s been identified as 19-year-old Victor White. The passengers are 18-year-old Alexis Hernandez and a 16-year-old juvenile.
