Man charged for arson on southwest side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man has been charged for a recent arson on the city’s southwest side.

Allen Hammons, 26, faces one felony count of arson in the case. He’s accused of setting a fire to a house in the 3200 block of South Foltz Street on Sept. 7.

Investigators with the Decatur Township Fire Department, Wayne Township Fire Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal determined the fire to be intentional.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Court records indicate Hammons lives near where the fire happened. Witnesses and evidence gathered at the scene helped connect Hammons to the fire, according to investigators.

His initial hearing was on Wednesday. He’s due back in court in December.
