Man dead after shooting at west-side home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead after a shooting Monday night in a west-side neighborhood, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said.

Police were dispatched about 11:30 p.m. to the 3100 block of Normandy Road. That’s just northeast of West 30th Street and Georgetown Road, just north of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 28-year-old Michael Moore.

Police said a fight broke out between two people and, as a third person tried to break up the dispute, shots were fired. Moore lived in the neighborhood. All three people knew each other. The suspected shooter and Moore  were visiting the house that became a crime scene.

Other people who were at the house fled, but police said they had a good idea who and where those people are. Police said they have a lot of good information on the incident.

Moore died at the hospital.

No additional information was immediately available from police.
