Man dead after shooting on city’s near-northeast side overnight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead after a shooting overnight on the city’s near-northeast side, according to police.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 3100 block of Brouse Avenue Sunday before 2 a.m. on reports of a person shot. That’s near North Keystone Avenue and East 32nd Street.

The victim has since been identified as 45-year-old Burnis Beecher.

When officers arrived to the area they found a man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear what led to the shooting or if a suspect has been identified.
