45-year-old man dead after shooting on city’s near-northeast side overnight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 45-year-old man died after an overnight shooting Sept. 6 on the city’s near-northeast side, according to police.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to reports of a person shot before 2 a.m. Sept. 6 in the 3100 block of Brouse Avenue. That’s near North Keystone Avenue and East 32nd Street.

The victim has since been identified as Burnis Beecher.

When officers arrived to the area they found a man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear what led to the shooting or if a suspect has been identified.
