INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man in his mid-20s is dead after a shooting on the city’s northeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the area of East 42nd Street and North Post Road for a person shot.
Police later said the shooting actually happened in the 4000 block of Hampshire Court.
After arriving on the scene, officers located the victim, who had been shot multiple times.
Police said the man was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting are unclear at this time.
No suspect information has been released.
