INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a homicide that happened on the city’s east side Saturday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday, IMPD responded to reports of a dead person in the 500 block of North Dearborn Street. That’s in a residential area near the Wheeler Mission Center for Women & Children.
Upon arrival, officers found Demarcus Mack, 27, unresponsive man inside a vehicle. The Marion County Coroner’s Office said he died from gunshot wound injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives determined the incident to be a homicide.
The victim’s identity and cause of death were not immediately released.
