Man dies of injuries after shooting on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died Sunday of injuries sustained in an early morning shooting on the city’s east side.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 4400 block of East Michigan Street, between Sherman Drive and Emerson Avenue, around 12:16 a.m. on a report of a person shot. They arrived to a find a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

He was taken to an area hospital, where he died several hours later, according to IMPD.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office said the victim was a 43-year-old Hispanic male.
