Man fatally shot in car in residential area on near-northeast side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was found fatally shot Friday afternoon in a car in a residential area on the city’s near-northeast side, police said.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and medical crews were called just after 4:00 p.m. Friday to a report of a person shot in the 3500 block of Kinnear Avenue. That’s a few block southwest of the intersection of East 38th Street and North Keystone Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found Solomon Keets, 41, in a car with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
Genae Cook, a public affairs officer with IMPD, said the man died at the scene. Homicide and aggravated assault detectives were investigating.
