Man found shot in residential area dies at hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man has died after being found shot Monday in a residential area on the west side, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said. 

Police were sent to a “person shot” call shortly before noon to the 400 block of Radburn Drive. They found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound or wounds, an IMPD news release said. Homicide detectives later learned the site of the shooting was nearby in the 7300 block of Halstead Drive. Those blocks are near each other off North Girls School Road between Rockville Road (U.S. 36) and 10th Street. 

The victim was initially listed in critical condition, but later died at a hospital. 

The name of the victim was not being released while family is notified, police said. 

It was not immediately known if IMPD is searching for a suspect. No additional information was immediately available from IMPD.
