Man found injured in September near Monument Circle dies; case now a homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person found injured in September a block east of Monument Circle died eight days later, and the case was ruled a homicide on Monday, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was sent to a report of a person shot just before 2 a.m. Sept. 21 to 100 N. Pennsylvania St., at the intersection with Market Street.

Atlas Wedlow 34, died Wednesday from his injuries, IMPD said in a news release issued Monday.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office has determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries/homicide.

Correction: A previous version of this story said that the victim was shot. Police responded to a report of a person shot, but say the man suffered from undisclosed trauma.
