McDonald’s employee shot after fight with customer

UPDATE: IMPD released a statement Friday just before 11:30 a.m. that they’ve arrested a 17-year-old boy for his involvement in the shooting. He’s been arrested for attempted robbery, battery, and carrying a handgun against the law. Police have not released the name of the boy due to him being underage, but they say this could change if he is charged as an adult.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A McDonald’s employee was shot Tuesday afternoon after an altercation with a customer, police say.

It happened around 1 p.m. Tuesday at 7822 Brookville Road.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers have confirmed the employee is injured with consistent gunshot wounds. Police say the man is in stable condition.

What led to the fight and whether a suspect was in custody was not immediately known. Police were not providing additional information at the crime scene.

A McDonald’s representative at the scene declined to comment. The restaurant is expected to be closed until Wednesday morning.
