Metro police make 2 arrests in November murder investigation

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in connection to a fatal shooting on the city’s east side in November 2019.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Johnathan Quarles, 25, and Gabriel West Jr., 28, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the shooting death of 23-year-old Aaron Jones.

Officers were called to the 5200 block of East 20th Street on November 21, 2019 on reports of a person shot around 3:45 p.m. When officers arrived they found Jones suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the arrests were made after a lengthy investigation. According to IMPD, Quarles was arrested February 27 and West Jr. was arrested March 4. Both men are facing preliminary charges of murder.

No other details were immediately available.
