Officials investigate fatal stabbing on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a stabbing left a man dead Tuesday evening.

It happened just before 8:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of East 34th Street, which is just north of Washington Park.

Investigators have since identified the victim as 62-year-old Gregory Parks.

It was not immediately known what led to the stabbing, but police said the victim was stabbed multiple times.

“We have pretty good information on the person we are looking for,” said IMPD Captain Michael Elder. “There is no fear to other people in the public. This happened between two people who knew each other.”

Investigators said the stabbing happened inside a house.

If you have any information on the stabbing, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
