Woman dead after stabbing at apartments on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman has died after a stabbing Friday night on the city’s northeast side, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and medical crews were called about 10:10 p.m. Friday to the 9100 block of Cavalier Court. That’s in the Arborstone Apartments northeast of the intersection of East 38th Street and North Post Road.

Officers arrived to find a woman, later identified as Chandre Rhodes, 51, in critical condition with a stab wound. She was taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital and died about an hour after arriving.

Police say they don’t believe the stabbing happened inside the apartment. They think it may have happened in the parking lot in a car that was not at the scene.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
