39-year-old man found dead on near-west side

LATEST: The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday said James Schutt, 39, died of multiple modes of trauma in a homicide.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was found dead close to an apartment complex on the near-west side late Sunday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded to the 1100 block of North White River Parkway West Drive for an unresponsive person around 11:30 a.m. That is near the River West Flats apartments.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with undisclosed trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
IMPD said that homicide detectives responded to the scene.
No additional information about the victim or a possible cause of death was immediately available.
