Plainfield police officer arrested on OWI charge

Plainfield, Indiana, police officer arrested on OWI charge

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A Plainfield Police officer was arrested Friday night after showing up to a scene under the influence of alcohol, the department said Saturday.

Patrick Tucker, 33, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after another officer at the scene saw signs Tucker was drunk.

Tucker, who’s been with the department since 2017, was off duty at the time when he was called to the scene. Indiana State Police took over the investigation and administered a chemical breath test. Tucker was then arrested following the results and taken to the Hendricks County Jail.

“The actions of this officer are unacceptable. The Plainfield Police Department refuses to compromise the quality of service we provide to the community and will continue to hold our officers accountable and to a higher standard,” said Chief Jared McKee.

Tucker has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the recommendation for termination to the Plainfield Police Commissioner Board.
