Man arrested after 21-year-old woman fatally shot at Speedway apartment complex
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot Saturday morning at an apartment complex in Speedway. Police say a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection to her death.
According to Speedway Police Department Lt. James Thiele, officers were called to the Eagle Creek Court Apartments around 3:30 a.m. Saturday on reports of a person shot. That’s near Cunningham Road and West 21st Street.
When officers arrived they found a 21-year-old woman had been shot. The woman was transported to an area hospital where she later died.
Police have arrested Shawn Harris, 23, of Indianapolis, in connection to the woman’s death. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine if charges will be filed against Harris.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
