Police investigate northwest side shooting
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Todd Chapman.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s northwest side.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a residence in the 6500 block of Oakview Drive — that’s between interstates 65 and 465 near Lafayette Road and 62nd Street — around 10:08 p.m. Sunday on a report of shots fired in the area.
They arrived to find a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, where he later died.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and canvassed for witnesses on Sunday night.
