Police: Man repeatedly climbed into homes to touch young girls

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a 40-year-old man was caught on two occasions entering homes and touching underage girls.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of Harlon Graves on Tuesday.

On Oct. 31, police say Graves climbed into a home in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue and touched a teenage girl. He climbed back out of a window and fled when confronted.

The very next day, IMPD officers were called to the 4800 block of E. New York St. When officers arrived, they were told a man was found in bed with a 10-year-old girl. Her grandparents said the suspect ran out the back door when he was confronted. They were also able to give a good suspect description.

In both cases, Graves was determined to be the suspect.

“We were alerted to the suspect by several tips that were called into Crime Stoppers and likely wouldn’t have succeeded without the public’s assistance,” said IMPD detectives in a statement. “This case is a great example of the police and community working together to get a dangerous person off of the street.”

Graves faces preliminary charges of burglary, sexual misconduct with a minor and child molestation.
