Search for 2016 Indy murder suspect ends in Georgia

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man being sought by police for more than two years has been apprehended in connection to the murder of a 22-year-old man in 2016.

Keion Robinson was arrested for his involvement in the May 3, 2016, murder of Tyler Wright, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Friday in a news release. The release said Robinson is 19 years old, but earlier information from police said he was 22.

Police went to a home in the 5900 block of Cedar Lake Drive just after noon May 3, 2016, on a report of shots fired. Police found the front door open, and Wright was dead on the living room floor.

He was arrested on a May 2016 warrant listing charges of murder and carrying a handgun without a license. The release did not indicate where Robinson is incarcerated but said he will be extradited to Indianapolis to face those charges.

IMPD said in the release that its violent crimes unit worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to find Robinson in Macon, Georgia, where he surrendered to authorities.
