Shooting at Lawrence gas station leaves clerk in critical condition

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) — A person is in critical condition after a shooting at a gas station in Lawrence Sunday, police say.

Officers with the Lawrence Police Department responded to a Thorntons convenience store in the 7000 block of Pendleton Pike around 5:30 a.m. on reports of a person shot.

Upon arrival, police found the gas station clerk with a gunshot wound to the head. The clerk was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators are unsure of what led to the shooting.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
