Shooting in west side neighborhood leaves 17-year-old boy dead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 17-year-old boy is dead after a shooting in a neighborhood early Saturday morning on the west side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded just before 1 a.m. Saturday to a report of a person shot in the 3100 block of Bonham Drive. That is near the intersection of West 30th Street and Kessler Boulevard.

The boy died at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified him as Jamal Lewis.
