Cruz holds rally in Knightstown

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz continued his string of Indiana events with a rally in Knightstown on Tuesday at the historic Hoosier Gym.

Sen. Cruz focused much of his speech on setting himself apart from Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in front of an enthusiastic crowd. One of the issues he brought up was which bathroom transgender people should use.

“Let me say it’s just common sense,” Sen. Cruz said. “This isn’t a matter of right or left, or Democrat or Republican. This is basic common sense that grown, adult men, stranges should not be alone in a bathroom with a little girl.”

Sen. Cruz pointed out that Indiana will have a big say as to who eventually wins the Republican nomination.

“The eyes of the nation are looking at this state, the Crossroads of America, to make a decision for our country,” he said.

Tuesday’s rally followed multiple rallies the Republican candidate has held across central Indiana in the past week.

On Monday he appeared in both Greenwood and Franklin.

Wednesday, Sen. Cruz has an event planned at Sisters Place Restaurant in the morning and a rally scheduled for the afternoon at Pan-Am Plaza.
