Dancers take center stage at Westfield

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – More than 45 schools from across Indiana descended on Westfield High School to compete in one of the state’s largest dance events on Saturday.

“There’s so many different types of people here, people with different talents,” said Westfield senior Rebekah Richards. “So it’s really interesting to see all those different types of people.”

Westfield’s own team took to the dance floor in the hip hop portion of the competition. While the Shamrocks team only practices 2-4 times a week, the physical demands of the sport are no joke.

“You definitely have to be in shape,” said Westfield sophomore Victoria Curtner. “Even though it’s just two and a half minutes, you have to do it full out. I run track, so it’s hard for me even.”
