Dangerous heat looks to build through the second half of the weekend and early next work week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Good Saturday evening, everyone! We’ve seen a stormy start to the weekend with nearly everyone seeing at least a quarter inch of rain or more in most locations.

We will hold on to a few storms through the evening hours, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy skies and muggy conditions.

Through the overnight, a stray storm or two is possible with mild overnight lows in the low 70s.

Temperatures look to skyrocket through the second half of the weekend with highs near the 90 degree mark.

Heat indices will be the big story tomorrow as they push towards the triple digits for the first time in a long time. Stay cool and stay hydrated if you’re going to be outside.

With the heat and humidity, we will see a few storms developing tomorrow as our weathermaker slowly slides off to the east. However, most of us will remain dry.

The outdoor thermostat will continue to rise into the work week with highs in the low 90s Monday and Tuesday.

Rain chances will return by mid-week.

The rising rain chances will lead to another big cool down for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will rebound again by next weekend with a scattering of showers and thunderstorms.
