Decatur Township asking for public input to keep overdoses down

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Decatur Township is asking the public to participate in a survey, to become part of an initiative in protecting teens and families from harmful substance use.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s southwest district expressed in a Facebook post how Decatur Township is concerned about the number of people overdosing on heroin or other opiates.

The Prevention Taskforce is conducting the survey to learn how many youths are at risk for harmful substance use.

According to data, by tenth grade more than one in three students reported having tried alcohol or other drugs.

The survey is 27 questions and takes less than 10 minutes to fill out. Decatur Township said they need as many people as possible to complete the survey over the next 30 days.
