Dick Wolfsie learns about Japanese fashion, warfare at Newfields exhibit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each and every week Dick Wolfsie shares a story that is unique to central Indiana.

This week Dick stopped by Newfields to check out the new exhibit: Seasons of Japan.

Part of the exhibit features Japanese fashion. It recently opened at the end of April and it will run until January 2020.

The exhibit has fashionable works by Miyake, Kawkubo and Yamamoto on display.

“So this is examples of Japanese design that you can find in haute couture all over the world,” explained Lauren with Newfields. “They do runway shows in all of the major fashion weeks. And we are standing in a room right now dedicated to Rei Kawakubo, but our second room actually has examples of Issey Miyake pieces and also Yohji Yamamoto pieces.”
