Dive team finds body in submerged car in Warren Co. creek

WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A DNR dive team has found a body in a vehicle that was found upside down and submerged in a creek just west of Covington, Indiana.

WLFI confirms a Department of Natural Resources dive team that was investigating the submerged vehicle discovered a body inside. No information on the person’s identity is being released at this time.

The vehicle was found mostly under a bridge in a small Warren County creek along County Road 700 West, just north of State Road 63.

Officers on scene said a man working on the bridge spotted the vehicle in the water, with its tires peeking out above the water level. The vehicle was found covered in mud, leading investigators to believe it had been there for some time.

Other agencies assisting DNR on scene are Indiana State Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, West Lebanon Police, and fire departments from Covington and West Lebanon.
