Doctor breaks down study advising against spanking children
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The American Academy of Pediatrics has released a study about the effects of spanking children.
The study called the discipline method “harmful” and “ineffective.“
Dr. Ann Lages with IU Health stopped by Daybreak Saturday.
She talked about the study, discussed why spanking is an ineffective method of disciplining children and how it is harmful to a child’s development.
She also discussed some alternative discipline methods to spanking.
