Dog found with tongue cut out, teeth filed down needs home
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Animal Charity of Ohio is caring for a dog they think was abused in a dog fighting ring.
The shelter said Youngstown police asked them to pick up the dog, named Bubbles, after it wandered onto a porch on Sunday.
Volunteers noticed the dog was not using his tongue and discovered that it had been cut out and his teeth were filed down. The charity said they believe Bubbles was used as a bait dog, or one that other fighting dogs use for practice.
The dog is being hand fed and has learned how to drink with no tongue, according to Animal Charity of Ohio.
Volunteers are also looking to place Bubbles in a good home. Bubbles will have to go to a home where he is the only dog in the residence. They said he will have special needs for the rest of his life. Adoption information can be found on the Animal Charity of Ohio website.
