Donnelly hopes new bill will improve health care for vets

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Senator Donnelly is continuing his work for veterans.

On Wednesday morning, Senator Donnelly held a press conference with health care providers and other organizations to talk about his mental health care package.

Donnelly says that this new bill is a bipartisan effort designed to with the sole purpose of helping vets.

“This bill is neither democratic nor republican. it is about serving those who have served us and protected us,” said Donnelly.

The new care package bill would make it easier for care providers to get the training necessary to work with service members. It would also create a website where service members can find those organizations that have received the training.

The bill has made it past the Senate Armed Services Committee and will move on as part of the national defense bill.
