Driver in custody after 30-minute pursuit on east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police chased a vehicle for more than half an hour on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday evening.
It began in the 500 block of Woods Crossing Drive around 9:30 p.m., according to police dispatch.
After the driver led police as far north as 46th Street, the chase ended at Washington Street and Franklin Road, just over a mile from where it began.
Police said at one point the chase was called off due to high speed, but it was started up again when the suspect pulled into a McDonald’s restaurant.
A PIT maneuver by police eventually forced the man driving to spin out.
He was taken into custody. A woman was also in the vehicle.
No one was injured. Officers said the incident began with a disturbance call.
