Employee injured by roller coaster at Indiana Beach

MONTICELLO. Ind. (WLFI) – A man was injured at Indiana Beach Saturday after being hit by the car of a roller coaster.

According to a release from the Monticello Fire Department, crews responded to the amusement park around 1 p.m. for a report of a man struck by a roller coaster car.

Officials with Indiana Beach told WLFI the man is a mechanic and was working on a platform of the Cornball Express roller coaster.

The release says the man suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to IU Health White Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Indianapolis.Stay with WISHTV.com for updates.
