Father’s Day traffic stop leads to drug arrests
JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A Jackson County Father’s Day traffic stop lead to drug arrests.
According to the Indiana State Police, the Dodge Ram being driven by 55-year-old John Foree Jr. of Frankfort, Kentucky, was stopped on I-65 near Seymour for having expired registration plates.
During the initial investigation, the officer on scene discovered what appeared to criminal activity. It was at that point that a probable cause was obtained to search the vehicle.
While searching the vehicle, 10 grams of cocaine, almost 300 grams of marijuana, two handguns and $1,500 in cash was discovered.
As a result of the vehicle search, both Foree Jr. and the passenger in the truck, 67-year-old Kenneth Satterly of Bethlem, Kentucky were arrested.
Foree Jr. faces preliminary charges of dealing in cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, and a number of others.
Satterly has been preliminary charged with possession of a handgun without a permit and possession of marijuana.
Foree Jr. and Saterrly were transported to the Jackson County Jail.
