Fire did $35,000 worth of damage to Southside home

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) – The Indianapolis Fire Department answered a call to a house that was under construction on State and Southeastern on Fri. Jan. 2.

There were no working smoke detectors and the home was unoccupied and under renovation.

When the fire trucks arrived, the fire was already aggressively attacking the empty building. The fire did over $35,000 worth of damage to the building.

The IFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
