Firefighter hurt in blaze at vacant house north of downtown
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A firefighter received minor injuries during a fire at a vacant house north of downtown late Tuesday afternoon.
Indianapolis Fire Department was called to 2824 Boulevard Place shortly after 4:15 p.m. A second alarm was issued about 4:45 p.m., and the fire at the single-story house was under control shortly after 5 p.m.
Rita Reith, a spokeswoman for the fire department, said two other houses, one north and and the other south of the residence fire, also received some damage. Damage to all three homes was estimated at $150,000.
The firefighter who was injured received a cut to the head and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
