Fog, freezing rain and rain for Monday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Central Indiana picked up around 1-2 inches of snow on Sunday.
The snow ends Sunday evening and we’ll see temperatures hovering around freezing during the evening hours.
Overnight fog forms and more rain is expected to come in by daybreak.
Temperatures will be close to the freezing mark early Monday morning, so there’s a chance we may see some pockets of light freezing drizzle. Once temperatures warm later in the morning, all the precipitation will change over to rain.
Highs on Monday will be in the upper 30s, close to 40 for the afternoon, with rain likely during the day.
The rain will continue through the Monday evening commute.
Another round of rain is likely late Monday night into the first part of Tuesday.
From 1-1.5 inches of rain may fall around central Indiana, which is why there’s a flood watch in effect for most of central Indiana until early Tuesday morning.
Winds pick up throughout the day Tuesday. First they’ll be out of the south and shift to the west later in the day. Sustained winds will be between 10-20 mph but may gust up to 30 mph by late afternoon and evening.
It will be sunny and dry Wednesday with highs right around normal. Another storm system arrives late Thursday and Friday, bringing us another chance for rain. Colder temperatures move in late Friday, which will change the rain back to snow.
