Former teacher pleads guilty to child seduction
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A former McCutcheon High School teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to child seduction charges involving a 16-year old student.
Thirty-eight-year old Jakob Robinson faced five felony counts of child seduction. He was accused of having sex with a student.
Prosecutors say while the relationship began in October of last year, the two met when the girl was a freshman in Robinson’s gym class.
The Tippecanoe School Corporation fired Robinson shortly after his arrest in January.
Thursday morning, a judge heard Robinson enter a guilty plea. He pleaded guilty to all five counts of child seduction.
Robinson could face up to 30 years behind bars. His sentencing is set for Aug. 7.
