Purdue University Global

Purdue University Global has a new business school dean.

Jeffery Buck has been named dean of the School of Business and Information Technology.

Buck was an associated dean at Anderson University and received his MBA from Ball State.

He will be responsible for the academic leadership of the school’s programs, faculty and students. He will also work to advance the online university’s mission on focusing on adult learners.

He succeeds Thomas Boyd, who recently retired.

American Airlines

American Airlines wants its 120,000-plus employees to always display good etiquette – especially when it comes to social media.

Among the guidelines – be transparent that they work for the airline, be respectful and be responsible.

Companies are learning a lot of damage can be caused to brands by social media posts.

Amazon Studios and Nicole Kidman

Amazon Studios has partner with Nicole Kidman’s production company.

Amazon said it will work with Blossom Films to develop original series that will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime video around the world, as well as movies that will be distributed in cinemas.

Shak App

The Sharkmate app can help beach goers know if sharks are a danger.

It uses an algorithm to calculate the risk.

Those include life guards, historical data, water temperature, rainfall and river mouth proximity.
