Get paid to care for dozens of cats, live in tiny home on Greek island

SYROS, Greece (KRON) – Calling all cat lovers — we’ve got a purrrrfect job opportunity for you!

If you love cats, want to travel, and live in a tiny home — a cat rescue in Greece is now hiring.

God’s Little People Cat Rescue is looking to hire a part-time, paid employee who would live on the Greek island of Syros and care for 55 cats.

Syros is located about 113 miles southeast of Athens (a 35-minute flight, according to Expedia).

According to a job description on Facebook, the employee would work four hours a day with all living expenses covered.

The perfect employee is someone who is “a genuinely passionate cat lover who knows how to handle many cats and would love their company.”

The employee would be responsible for feeding and medicating 55 cats and taking the cats to the vet in the event they become sick.

Note — you must be able to drive a manual car.

The tiny home will feature a “direct view of the Aegean Sea” and water and electricity is included.

A salary is also included.

You will not need to pay for any expenses for the cats.

According to the job posting, the ideal candidate is:

  • 45+ years-old
  • Responsible
  • Reliable
  • Honest
  • Practically inclined
  • Has a heart of gold
  • Someone willing to shower the cats with love and attention

If you are a trained veterinary nurse, that’s an added bonus, too!

” You will at times be expected to trap or handle a feral or non-sociable cat, so knowing something about a cats psychology too is important + cat-whispering skills should come natural to you,” according to the posting.

The job involves a six-month commitment but is long-term.

The first two to four weeks is on a volunteer basis (accommodations paid), then the paid job starts on Nov. 1.

Anyone who is interested is asked to send an application with a photo and relevant information to joanbowell@yahoo.com.

Officials will look through applications and do Skype calls with ideal candidates at the end of August.
