Girl Scout leaders, prosecutor’s office talk cybersecurity

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Girl Scouts troop leaders in central Indiana got a lesson in cybersecurity during their annual summit.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office talked with troop leaders on Saturday afternoon.

Deputy prosecutors shared knowledge about types of social media kids are using and how to talk with young people about tools to keep them safe.

The Girl Scouts added a new cybersecurity badge to its program in September.

Besides helping protect themselves, the badge is meant to allow girls to explore career opportunities in cybersecurity and information technology.
