‘Gr8 Comeback:’ Millenium Gear, Kustom Kreations make masks in ‘style’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two entrepreneurs are trying to use the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic to innovate and promote hope.

Millennium Gear, known for producing sports apparel and Kustom Kreations, a full-service print shop specializing in brands, partnered together to create masks that people could wear in “style.”

“We came together and brought our businesses together beforehand, but when this crisis broke out we teamed up with a partner and had to start making masks,” said Derin Graham, owner of Millenium Gear. “It’s been a true blessing because we can bless people with that as well as have that protection for ourselves.”

They gave away nearly 1,000 masks in the parking lot of Lafayette Square Mall. Later that evening, they gave away more downtown at Monument Circle while they finished a photo shoot to launch their new products.

Miaesha Caldwell, owner of Kustom Kreations, says the photo shoot served as a statement to other local business owners.

“This photo shoot is really to show our brands,” Caldwell said. “If we’re going to be mandated to wear masks, why don’t you do it in style and rep your brand?”

“It was just to take a stand for what’s going on and be able to bring people together and bring them hope,” Graham said. “That’s the main thing. The best thing is being able to being able to sew seed into people’s lives. That’s number one. That’s how we look at it and it’s all about love at the end of the day.”
