Greenfield police arrest 2 teens for armed robbery
GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Two teenagers were arrested in Greenfield Wednesday for armed robbery.
According to the Greenfield Police Department, officers were called to the Florence Drive around 5 p.m. for a report of an SUV chasing two males.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Cameron Morris, told officers that he was in Greenfield in order to purchase an iPhone from the two males he was chasing. Morris originally agreed to buy the phone using the Offer Up app.
During the transaction, the two suspects, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, displayed a handgun and robbed Morris, taking his cash, police say.
Both teenage suspects were later identified and taken into custody. The handgun used in the robbery was also discovered at a residence where the suspects were visiting.
The 16-year-old and the 17-year-old have been transported to the Delaware County Juvenile Detention Facility. Both face preliminary charges of armed robbery and pointing a firearm.
